Chef Brad Kilgore’s new restaurant opened in Wynwood, Miami’s artsiest neighborhood, this past May, and it’s been killing it ever since. A $65, 5-course tasting menu offers a sophisticated experience where dishes like miso swordfish with bacon avocado dashi and prawns in green thai curry lead the march.
Those of us who love Mexican food can never get enough, and Centro Taco in Downtown Miami has a modern approach that shakes things up while keeping the menu options delicious. Florida gator tacos and fried green tomato tortas are must tries.
Red Ginger is an izakaya restaurant with an exceptional sushi menu and a raved about list of top shelf Japanese whiskeys. Spicy lobster curry comes with a baked five-spice tofu, and the shrimp pad thai boasts a little local flavor with plantain citrus.
An Eastern Mediterranean menu matches the blue and gold aesthetic of Byblos Miami’s airy dining room. Grass-fed steak tartare, heirloom tomato fattouche and yogurt-baked fluke offer more creative options on a menu rooted in high quality ingredients.
Brasserie Azur is another new Mediterranean restaurant in Miami, but its sandwiches and red brick rustic look provide more of a homey vibe than Byblos. Rotisserie chicken is the specialty, and the garden vegetable gazpacho is a revelation of fresh, crisp flavor.
