Raising money for the 15,000 people living in Miami-Dade and Broward counties affected by HIV/AIDS, and boosting awareness to the rest of the world, this is one of the area’s most important annual events. The AIDS Walk Miami is the largest fundraiser of its kind in the city, and it invites participants to start teams, or join pre-existing ones, register as individual walkers, and make donations. Specific beneficiaries of the 5K walk-a-thon fundraiser are Care Resource and Food for Life Network, both premier organizations working towards disease prevention and elevated awareness.
