Television personalities Anderson Cooper and Andy Cohen are touring the country, putting on an extraordinarily original style of performance: Having intimate and deep conversations on stage. The clashing and complementary nature of these two intellectuals, one from the news, the other from an entertainment talk show, makes for some truly thought provoking and entertaining banter, the city excitedly anticipates Cooper and Cohen’s upcoming visit to South Beach, a highlight among a string of great shows set to take place at our beloved Fillmore Miami Beach.
The Fillmore Miami Beach at the Jackie Gleason Theater has been bringing big name performance acts to South Beach for more than 60 years. Legendary comedian Jackie Gleason filmed his hit show The Honeymooners at the auditorium in the mid-1960s. His residence in Miami Beach was followed by decades of world famous musicians and performers playing the Fillmore. Some of the more notable guests on the venue’s resume include Tony Bennett, Liza Minnelli, and Seal.
Cooper and Cohen each promise to bring out something original. Cooper is a groundbreaking journalist with CNN, whose show Anderson Cooper 360° is one of the most watched and talked about segments in modern American news. Cohen, on the other hand, is a comedy-first talk show host. His nightly show on Bravo, entitled Watch What Happens: Live, explores the worlds of reality television and celebrity news. His pop-culture focused perspective will complement Anderson Cooper’s news knowledge to adequately represent the most prevalent American conversations.
It’s interesting to see such a dynamic pair of thinkers thrown on the same stage, which makes the upcoming Anderson Cooper and Andy Cohen conversation at the Fillmore a sight worth seeing. Their open dialogue leaves room for just about anything to happen. To find out more about the show and other happenings at the Fillmore, check out the venue’s website.
