Grizzly Bear is a wildly successful and talented indie group based out of Brooklyn, New York. Their latest album, Shields, has garnered critical acclaim and launched them to a level of notoriety on a global scale. Currently on a tour that’s traveled throughout Paris, Milan, Munich and Boston among other major destinations, Grizzly Bear is taking its talents to South Beach this June.
The hipster musicians will play at the the Jackie Gleason Theater’s Fillmore Miami Beach, one of the most distinguished music venues in the city. Once a stage for iconic talk shows with hosts like Dick Clark, Ed Sullivan and Jackie Gleason, The Fillmore has brought world class acts to South Florida for over half a century. The venue now invites major musical groups to its grand stage, with David Crosby, The War on Drugs, and Earth Wind & Fire set to play in the auditorium later this June.
Performing on this hallowed stage should be a piece of cake for the now seasoned Grizzly Bear team, which keeps things fresh at every new performance. The band’s experimental and psychedelic sounds come from a blend of mesmerizing vocal harmonies (each of their four members sings) and rotating instrumentals (the musicians alternate between playing the keyboard, the banjo, and even the omnichord).
Give Grizzly Bear a listen and consider their concert this June. For other shows at the Fillmore Miami Beach and information on the venue’s history, check out their website here.
