So, Miami Beach is turning 100 years old next month! For a city that we call home, that’s pretty huge. With so much history behind this small island city, there will be a whole lot to celebrate and the city is doing it right. To pay homage to 100 years of success, the Miami Beach Centennial will hold a 100-hour celebration filled with as much local spirit as possible. Leading up to the actual anniversary day will be five straight days of parties and events.
Sunday – 3.22
The celebration will start off with a bang with the Concours Car show featuring vintage and classic rides that have been preserved and maintained by the world’s best automobile aficionados. In the spirit of beauty and Miami Beach, there will also be the Miss Miami Beach Centennial USA competition.
Monday – 3.23
In a brilliant display of love, 100 couples will get married on the same day in honor of the centennial. That night, the Fillmore Miami Beach will host the Jackie Gleason TV Marathon and a documentary on the city will play at the New World Center.
Tuesday – 3.24
The TV Marathon at the Fillmore will continue with a CAA Tennis exhibition also going down.
Wednesday – 3.25
As an historical haven for political refugees and immigrants, there will be a large Naturalization Ceremony honoring 100 new U.S. Citizens. Then to fill tummies and please ear drums, the Miami Beach Food Truck & Music Festival will go down at the North Shore Bandshell.
Thursday – 3.26
Thursday, Thursday is the day! Miami Beach will be 100 years old and the celebration will be incredible with the Centennial Beach Party and the Hard Rock Rising Miami Beach Global Music Festival. This awesome time has never and will never happen again!
